Book Review: Mommy Time
Title: Mommy Time
Subtitle: 90 Devotions for New Moms
Author: Sarah Arthur
A mother's job is tough! A first time mom has an even more challenging experience. I know, because I have 3 children. Leaving the hospital with a new little baby that is completely dependent on you is daunting! It is hard to believe that they are letting me leave the hospital with this baby. Don't they know that I have no idea what I am doing? They forgot to give me a user's manual for this baby!
This book can serve as a guide to get you through that difficult time. Those first few months after you bring the bay home will be tough. You may not have the time for the traditional Bible study that you did before you entered mommyhood. The author has written 90 short devotionals that are written with new moms in mind. The length of each devotional is short enough to be read in just a few minutes.
Each devotional will ring true for you as a new mom. You will find yourself relating to the author's stories. She also includes a Bible verse at the beginning of each devotional that you will be able to apply to your daily life as a new mom.
This book would make a great baby shower gift for any mom to be. It is ideal for new moms but more experienced moms will still relate and enjoy the book.
Be aware that if you are looking for a serious, intense Bible study then this is not the book for you. It is designed to be read in a few minutes not something that you will study deeply. The short stories from the author's own life are ideal for people in the similar circumstance as the author.
